CHESTNUTXE 7,299 Posted November 30, 2019 2nd head is done and just waiting ford light blue paint to come but in meantime we might fit the crank to the engine since the new 1 piece seal cameSent from my SM-G570Y using TapatalkI put the chain on for a look and has a small amount of play sought of borderline if needing replacement if so might get a double roller or just replace chain for about 35 bucks morse type single rollerSent from my SM-G570Y using Tapatalk
bear351c 10,270 Posted November 30, 2019 Hmm... has a bit of wear. Can't remember exactly how much it says in the big, red book for Clevo's (1/4" of deflection I think) If you afford the coin, go Double roller. 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
NZXD 2,328 Posted November 30, 2019 I’d put a double roller, I did with mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,299 Posted November 30, 2019 can i ask what 50oz balancer ,timing cover and timing pointer you are using, seems confusing with these timing covers as i would just like to use the older left hand waterpump and normal pulleys,as the cover i have is efi and serpintine pulleys which are fkd. CHESTNUTXE 7,299 Posted December 1, 2019 i cleaned up the timing cover and looks like this one is in gc,but here we go again this is only for a late model waterpump yeah ? i was gunna go for the old school look, and run a water pump on the left hand side,or stick with this one and refurbish the serpantine systym ? Balancer is a four bolt 50oz, can’t remember the brand but it has survived a number of 6500 pulls. CHESTNUTXE 7,299 Posted December 1, 2019 awsome thanks for that i have also learnt that some windsors have different timing marks on the cover like 10 o clock 11 o clock and 2 o clock ? trying to workout getting the right cover that is gunna work with a efi balancer and have a timing mark thats gunna be right ?
NZXD 2,328 Posted December 1, 2019 The other way is to buy an adjustable timing marker then find true TDC and mark the current balancer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,299 Posted December 1, 2019 im not gunna use the au trigger balancer or can i ? nah its got the surp belt pulley machined onit
NZXD 2,328 Posted December 1, 2019 For the cost I’d get a new one if you want to do a v belt set up. Plus the AU one is 20 years old. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,299 Posted December 1, 2019 yeah agree, its just gunna be easier putting a older timing cover and block off fuel pump hole if needed, will cross that path when it comes around, just waiting for my engine paint to arrive it should have been here last week. 1 NZXD reacted to this

NZXD 2,328 Posted December 5, 2019 Is the XF power steering lines long enough? I’d like an AU 5.0 in my XF Ghia as it would be a nice cruiser, but can’t really bring myself to take the original xflow out.
