NZXD 2,328 Posted November 24, 2019 They aren’t factory on an LTD low spec, they came with horrible pinch tight shit manifolds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this

CHESTNUTXE 7,299 Posted November 24, 2019 the pipes i wonder would fit into a xf ,it looks like it will ,also maybe au2 onwards had the headers i have ? i know it was a 99 model
NZXD 2,328 Posted November 24, 2019 Those headers you have won’t even come close getting into an X series, been there and tried haha. If you can find the articles relating to Dick Johnson’s Pine Pac mustangs in the 80s they are a good read on how he managed to get 380hp from the asthmatic 302w back then. CHESTNUTXE 7,299 Posted November 24, 2019 so what headers will fit into x series with gt40p heads ?
NZXD 2,328 Posted November 24, 2019 Nothing off the shelf due to the spark plug angle, however I have Hurricane 4 into 1 headers and I had them fitted to GT40p heads, you would need 90 degree spark plug boots from memory to help them from hitting the pipes. CHESTNUTXE 7,299 Posted November 24, 2019 hmmmm they are not cheap, hey maybe i should sell some of the bits off the engine inc, headers suit au,p/s pump ,alt, and it has a chunky efi manifold maybe you can tell me is it a xr8 one ? it looks the same, they are going for about 300 bux on e bay
NZXD 2,328 Posted November 24, 2019 Yep it’s the same intake manifold for allAU V8 (except the fancy tickford ones fitted to the 5.6)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,299 Posted November 24, 2019 any idea what i should ask for the headers they are very original ,also the intake ?
NZXD 2,328 Posted November 24, 2019 Not sure mate, I know the AU headers will squeeze into E series as that’s what I did selling them off to a mate with an EB, he also put the gt40p heads on too. They're a shit even with tri-Ys designed for Clevos into X-series, let alone tuned length (for which some are an engine-out job)Sent from my CPH1903 using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this

gerg 10,871 Posted November 25, 2019 Also would this trigger work with my msd ? Sent from my SM-G570Y using Tapatalk No because the MSD wants to see one pulse per cylinder firing, so the wheel would need 4 teeth (8 pulses over 2 revolutions), whereas that one has what looks like 36 or something, maybe one missing or a double one to tell the computer where #1 TDC is. Either way, if you wanted the MSD to be triggered by that, and it has a number of teeth in multiples of 4, you could possibly cut off teeth so that you have 4 remaining, although you are then stuck with that base timing. Better off going off the dizzy. Sent from my CPH1903 using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this

gerg 10,871 Posted November 29, 2019 If you marked them to go back into their respective holes, then no. But if you're just shoving them in wherever, probably a good idea to lap them in.Sent from my CPH1903 using Tapatalk 2 Thom and CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
