why are you pulling it apart? are you planning to make any changes to it? if you want to use a larger cam you need to retrofit the e series dog bones as the plastic lifter guides have a limited amount of space for lifrt
It wasn't stored that well after 12 months in a shed and just needs a clean up with rings n bearings e9de449f542c500930f2e0daeb81befd.jpg2a33ee1a119ac1ad29db9436fe2e851e.jpg117597200cda489a8078a3acf3ef8614.jpge2de4f4146e41a0559dea68d69079659.jpgb444ee097d2dc8065b443d168551e52e.jpg9077d90d9875ff29b21f367871c1eb59.jpg

Yeah if you do a cam you really need to watch PTV clearance, anything over about .520 lift is getting into dangerous territory. However I know someone with .544 with no issues in a roller 302w with stock P heads and pistons.

did you see how clean inside of the rocker covers are ,like new,but it needs a freshen up as plenty off dirt and gunk got all over the motor,im looking at timing covers i guess im gunna need an older style one with the dipstick hole, and what water pump suits the older way ? is it r/h or l/h out let ?

You can buy various timing covers to suit, depends on the application and whether you want to run a mechanical fuel pump.
I have one which can take a crank angle sensor, mechanical fuel pump and standard rotation water pump.
The outlet for the water pump is on the passenger side.
What is this going into?

from what i have read about the gt40p heads is that they have a piss weak valve spring that is only good for the std cam,
Just took no 1 rod n piston out for a general look b6f9904fa77a0abebfc5c0ea3477852b.jpgfbb4ba026eee241289bd421d631a8bd5.jpg

The E303 has a very nice choppy idle, very popular in the US, .498 lift and 220 degrees@.50

Yeah the factory springs aren’t much chop, but you would be fine running the E303, might get some valve float around 6k rpm.
