CHESTNUTXE 7,261 Posted November 16, 2019 why are you pulling it apart? are you planning to make any changes to it? if you want to use a larger cam you need to retrofit the e series dog bones as the plastic lifter guides have a limited amount of space for lifrtIt wasn't stored that well after 12 months in a shed and just needs a clean up with rings n bearings Sent from my SM-G570Y using Tapatalk
NZXD 2,328 Posted November 16, 2019 Yeah if you do a cam you really need to watch PTV clearance, anything over about .520 lift is getting into dangerous territory. However I know someone with .544 with no issues in a roller 302w with stock P heads and pistons. CHESTNUTXE 7,261 Posted November 16, 2019 i noticed the pistons in this engine dont have the small dish as in the EB 5.0L
NZXD 2,328 Posted November 16, 2019 The first of the EB series Windsor’s had factory forged pistons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this

CHESTNUTXE 7,261 Posted November 16, 2019 ok cheers,so i figure to put this thing back together looking ol school with single v belt,so i need a 50 oz weight balancer i guess but will the eb style balancer fit the original stlye pulleys ? or is there a special balancer for this app ? NZXD 2,328 Posted November 16, 2019 The EB is V belt from memory. The gt40p heads could flow 200cfm from factory, best factory ford Windsor iron head produced.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,261 Posted November 16, 2019 did you see how clean inside of the rocker covers are ,like new,but it needs a freshen up as plenty off dirt and gunk got all over the motor,im looking at timing covers i guess im gunna need an older style one with the dipstick hole, and what water pump suits the older way ? is it r/h or l/h out let ?
NZXD 2,328 Posted November 16, 2019 You can buy various timing covers to suit, depends on the application and whether you want to run a mechanical fuel pump. I have one which can take a crank angle sensor, mechanical fuel pump and standard rotation water pump. The outlet for the water pump is on the passenger side. What is this going into? NZXD 2,328 Posted November 16, 2019 You can leave the dipstick in the sump. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

gerg 10,871 Posted November 16, 2019 If you're looking for decent street cams, the Ford Motorsport E303 and B303 are good, proven units that won't mess up the EFI. The B is a bit more cam than the E.Sent from my CPH1903 using Tapatalk 2 Thom and CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,261 Posted November 16, 2019 from what i have read about the gt40p heads is that they have a piss weak valve spring that is only good for the std cam,

NZXD 2,328 Posted November 17, 2019 The E303 has a very nice choppy idle, very popular in the US, .498 lift and 220 degrees@.50Yeah the factory springs aren’t much chop, but you would be fine running the E303, might get some valve float around 6k rpm.
