Yes all those blocks were dipped in that red stuff to stop corrosion b4 sending out and there is your proof still can see the red oxide, lately have also seen many like that one still in the ford cardboard box on temeyer clevo/400 site.

I have a correction, this one has actually been punched 0.030 but if it's a decent block that tested ok for core shift, that's not a problem.

Learn something new last night early 460 with externally balanced crank uses a small counter weight and also another sleeve is used but not sure if it suits internal balance I'm still working that one outfd6b644060421996d4b9fc2e197d6399.jpge355e93c3f88469ce31cf00ba55050a4.jpg

Ok I think the sleeve is used with internaly balanced crank and the small counterweight is used with externally.

That's very interesting .. The Victor Reinz gaskets are good .  Those I'd say are a very nice choice . I use the VR nitro seal I've found work great  .

Please just stay well away from the Felpro print-o-seal (Black teflon gasket with blue beads) They are rubbish.  They are coated for easy removal but the teflon coating allows them to creep around between the smooth surfaces . Most then leak coolant @ the front
