CLEVELAND ENGINE TALK

Timing cover looks good, who made that thing.??? 400 same as 302/351..?
I'm pretty sure they are the same, the whole point of the 400 was to use as much tooling from the clevo as possible ie: the cam bore is the same space apart from the main journal.

That looks very similar to a Crow 21666 (the last one I had). Same 0.050" specs. Basically one up from a towing cam, but it looks like Elgins have a much longer ramp, like an OEM one would have.

The 400 is back all milled and ready for a wash with the big sponge and hot y water ,note new oil filter screw with big hex and I think we will go the same colour as the other 1 and paint it ford dark blue6fadc34f1d5a29abfeecffd84675301a.jpgc6da10b9f40f8a141788c61b93e3e5e9.jpge676f3602932e2a989bf0fb64a2b7642.jpgbd745f86bc734c55e0ecfc7722e230b6.jpg322fbac9e44bfb45c0a38a13418d3d0a.jpg5188852f155f5c311d9a7f6d57d1f857.jpg

I used a lot of that spec cam many years ago . Several manufacturers made basically same grinds . They were a real nice all round cam in a 302 or 351. In a 400 it will make great torque
