with My rule of guessing, i would go for an 18 tooth gear. that's IF the same rule applies to the FMX as it does to the BW boxes.. (1 tooth makes about 10% ish ) 

so going from 20  tooth to 18 tooth might be close.. 
BUT.. on My other rule.. which is more accurate.. is ask someone that's running a similar combo what they have

just did research xr to xb 6 teeth and top loader black 7 teeth,mine being a 1971 c6 but in a galaxy with 2.47 rear end im guessing,c6 in smaller cars like mustang with 3.50 or shorter up to 4.33 drag pack would have had a 8 tooth on shaft id say,gerg said that little black thing is a yolk seal,not speedo gear,at $50 a gear i want to get this right.

Sorry it was gregaus said thats a rubber seal speedo drive is further up the shaft

Ok i read some usa forums it dont matter if 6 or 7 or 8 teeth are machined onto shaft ,just take a reading with what you have atm then go up or down,dave n dean were right but seems im not alone with this c6 speedo problems plenty others are asking exactly what i am looking for how many teeth are machined onto outer shaft and it could be heaps of c6 variations truck/car/van,ect ect very annoying so i think i will grab a 17 or 18 speedo drive with 17 probly reading a tad fast but its better than reading a tad slow yeah ?

the only thing that won't be 100% then is the odometer trip meter, but they weren't accurate when new anyway

Get your speedo recalibrated.  Most gauge/instrument shops can fix the "out by 10 kays issue".

 

Install GPS speedo on your phone, drive a couple of kays at 60 on the speedo, look at phone, write down reading.

 Drive a couple of kays ay 80km/h, look at phone, same at 100, and at 120.

Yes ive been using the gps speedo thing,another question some of the c4 c6 speedo drives have a shorter nose on them compared to others with a long one ,is there any reason for this as i thought it could be for cable operation transducer up to xc as xd xe had the normal type im used to ? The 20 orange im using has the long nose on it but the yellow 18 on e bay has the short nose or spigot

That F is probably from an engine reco mob. That's the square pad that makes it a "square" block, vs a "D". Likely a GF block, if you look next to the oil sender port you will see the foundry mark.

Then it will be locally cast. Anything cast after 74 will be from here. Should be a solid lump with minimal core shift

no rain in Melbourne, just near freezing min to top of 13 deg.. not ideal for motivation that's for sure.

Also managed to put the heater hose pipe in and switch that was destined for the 400 but in she goes now lets take a look at the 76da 302c manifold the closed in secondary was to keep air speed up compared to the 351c manifold but on a near std engine it will be fine i have run these on many a five 1 ,besides i only paid 30bux for it and the vaccum tree is worth that alone only other choice is the pro comp weiand copy at 169bux but its a single plane ,vloody rain is belting down here and lucky i got 99%of paintwork done on the car good time to screw the engine together but i have no heads over last 3 months been looking for a set of open chamber 2vs but none have come up in the gold coast area.83cc450d699a5c8b65849846808b7684.jpg602caf6e0364d0e1e7d844c6a50bfc49.jpga8a0dae05669b415c2e4ebccb84b1656.jpg

after spending a few hrs on the manifold and air cleaner i got em cleaned and painted the argent silver base coat and tomorrow get some more clear will enchance them even more,manifold looks choice now.
