Boingk 862 Posted February 3, 2020 Exhaust crossover into a single HX35 turbo where the battery would normally go, relocate it to behind the cab. Single entry onto a hat, boost reference fuel pressure... you're laughing! 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this

gerg 10,871 Posted February 4, 2020 Did you cc the pistons and get the machinist to measure piston deck clearance? That will tell you if you can use those closed chambersSent from my CPH1903 using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,307 Posted February 4, 2020 not yet but im sure he knows whats going on,i reckon the piston to deck height will be not as bad as first thought by judgeing both old and new sets looked identical height.
gerg 10,871 Posted February 4, 2020 Here use this calculator, it came up with 11.43:1 comp using 8cc dish, 0.020 down the hole, 0.041" gasket and 58cc headhttp://www.wallaceracing.com/cr_test2.phpSent from my CPH1903 using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,307 Posted February 4, 2020 60 thou down the hole and 20cc dish piston and 58cc head got 10.1.
CHESTNUTXE 7,307 Posted February 4, 2020 it says by that calcuator that a 400 has a 3.75 stroke ? i thought ford 400 had a 4 inch stroke ?
gerg 10,871 Posted February 4, 2020 it says by that calcuator that a 400 has a 3.75 stroke ? i thought ford 400 had a 4 inch stroke ?No that site is for Pontiacs, the sizes on the left are to autofill the specs for various Pontiac engines. You need to manually enter bore, stroke and cc, etc to get the right figure for a 400 Ford. It should come in at around 402 cubes if entered right (stock bore)Sent from my CPH1903 using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,307 Posted February 4, 2020 i like using the summitt one,i came in at 10.1.1 with a fair bit down the hole and 58cc head,im guessing 20 to 28 cc for the piston. 1 gerg reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,307 Posted February 4, 2020 hey i found this cam lifters and springs from the usa quite cheap but cam specs are 484 /512 will 512 be ok with std rockers ? i know the general rule is 500 lift ?
gerg 10,871 Posted February 4, 2020 512 is fine, 12 thou is only about a quarter of a mm. What are the other specs for it?Sent from my CPH1903 using Tapatalk

Are you sure the piston has that much dish? Edit: just ran the Summit one, it came in at 8.73:1 It assumes that your head gasket is the same as the bore, which it never is. The Wallace Racing one lets you input the gasket diameter to allow for the extra volume there. I put in 4.100" as that's closer to what they are.
