3.45 with a stabdrard stall would be a bit of a hoot, but if it were mine I'd rock 2.92s and go a bugger stall. Power when you want it and still cruise when you need to.

yeah i put 3.27 behind my 351c in my xe with fmx and it was a big mistake it changed into top gear nearly straight away.

I reckon a big torque monster like this needs the tallest gears possible. Otherwise, spinning it hard in the lower gears just wastes energy spinning itself.

But 2.92 is the tallest i have in b/w 28 spline and the wackyist thing is i only just got the diff shop to rebuild it back to 3.45 from 2.92 god dam it ,hmmm maybe its time for mr ninch to get built 2.75 lsd im sure it wont be hard to find a xa /xc one for leafs to suit the xf ute

Update i cleaned the crank up but i think the mains need a clean up,big ends were better but probly 10 thou on both should do the trick i reckonb5cb26a2925578c28cbc55ff540a6985.jpg1daa0eed0c2bd46075e3945f243ffd0a.jpg2d84e68acc93b8cd94e60a0c5787042d.jpg

These have massive 3" mains, like a 351W, so I'm sure 10 thou isn't going to ruin the friendship

Sandwich plate is cleaned and new filter and pan gasket on order from usa ,heads have been dummy cleaned and ready for skim and this broken exhaust bolt i cant get out its gunna be a job for the machine shop6c24bb0b1c970f8c9ee146ddf94ec31e.jpg4d27c4c9f77d264462c9453e75595125.jpg09e91a1481091c52ce8367947e1aa2ec.jpg

Looking good from the photos, honestly that crank seems fine at least how I'm seeing it. If you can't catch a fingernail on any of the scratches they should be okay to use. I linished mine with some strips of 1200 grit and WD40, not sure if it even did anything but they look and feel okay so I'll take some measurements and chuck it back in.

The real nightmare was my crossflow... that thing was hammered and the crank looked very much less than ideal but again no fingernail catch so I slapped it in, ran 20W-60 and spun it up to 6,000rpm. Still holding 50psi oil pressure, too.

i hit it with 600 and my nail can catch one of the mains but maybe olm8 can polish it out ,also look at the beefy flywheel bolts compard to arp alternative, also i dont fall for the 3 card trick very often but i got done,i bought this 400 p/s bracket from the mustang ranch in america and it looked much longer than the normal xd/xe p/s bracket cause the taller deck i figured it needed a longer support bracket for the pump but nope it looks exactly the same as a normal xd/xe bracket so i paid a lot of money for something i could have got here ,it must be the actual 400 p/szx pumpzx bracket that is longer im on the case atm ,also cleaned up all bolts, and all are in gc,also orderd 400 mounts from usa ,and got good info how to make the 400 fit in xa/xf stlye chassis, just make a 1/2 inch spacer plate under the plate and raise the titanic, but air cleaner must be no more than 2 inchs.0xZ5N9mS_o.jpgdPf3eIaO_o.jpgaGB7GPwI_o.jpguyYqKcfZ_o.jpg

Don't worry about the size of the bolt heads, ARP are good at what they they do. Modern technologies, different metals, machining processes, all contribute to "different" things that do the same job.

Like seeing the rebuild photos, good info for all us "Non 400" Clevo drivers. 😁

Good news on the pistons they seem same comp height as old ones but dish is a big bigger i tried to measure the volume but the valve reliefs kept overflowing with kero im guessing around 20cc but thats good news as the block might not need much taken off it also 2v ports on manifold seem quite small but overall im stoked680387c4faea978e61fe36302a8042cc.jpg71c34f5cf4db4e2172caa79b4405b0f8.jpg3d3699dbaec1f2bad8e673413639f69e.jpg503fa5df3c056a3ea023951d0869ea8e.jpg93509f6a37853a5adf0c752b6e17bfc4.jpga968c5111548b159bbf1f069783f1a61.jpg

So what is the go when trying to find the correct Speedo gear for say 2.92 ? The black spiral thing is the big gear i guess ? I also managed to get the navy seal out5e509ac0ffd537ca15395b5ca41ab291.jpg7b203eae9547515a65f06b24749f4dda.jpgc59b13a8626b717a83aae639fde5f115.jpg
