Log manifold on ef/el

Hi

Just a question 

If we keep the ef atleast for longer before going back to ed wish to use the log manifold if possible on the ef when getting engine fixed as prefer the log manifold as the heater hoses seem easier to get to and was thinking of using the xh ute ecu out of a log manifold model as it’s the ef vintage or newer and ecu system should be model of car or newer for emissions standards

So had a thought of using following and wondered if it’s a problem as the xh log manifold ute is a ef/el with log manifold 

Xh ute log manifold ecu
Ed/xh ute log manifold (which is same between the 2)
El fairmont engine bay wiring and dash wiring 

Would the above combo be ok as when people convert to bbm in ea-ed they use a el ecu and just plug it into the ea-ed wiring and the ea-ed & el/xh have same plug.
