deankxf 20,288 Posted December 3, 2017 check the control arm bushes or uni joints.. or both.. unless it's backlash in the gears(doubt it) i can't see an LSD having internal issues unless severely thrashed prior
bear351c 10,270 Posted December 3, 2017 Agreed. Uni joint, shocker rubbers, control arms, shackle bushes, loose wheel nuts, etc. etc. Do the easy stuff first.! If the diff was rooted, I reckon it would do it all the time, or only on lefthand/right hand turns.
dex 2,065 Posted December 3, 2017 Has new control arms on the diff all round ,, new shocks and rubbers ,," did it before all the new gear went in it . " Just some times coming down from say 20 kph to stand still in mingling traffic ,, and only every now and again , like weeks apart ,, it will do it . Real rythmic clonk clonk clonk noise with what feels like a sort of hopping feel ,, like when you see a full locker diff doing a U turn feel . Odd .. will replace the uni joint ,,see if its that . cheers blokes 1 Outback Jack reacted to this
