Caramel Wheel/Pinstripe Removal

4 posts in this topic

Noticed Bunnings had a caramel Wheel the other day so I grabbed it, always wanted to remove the old cracked pinstripe off the wagon.

Any hints or suggestions before using it?

Be VERY careful with how much pressure you put on the surface and keep it moving. It will burn paint easily if you go too hard at it or sit in a spot too long. Spinning the wheel too fast can make the bad things happen quicker. I'd suggest trying it on a spare panel to get a feel for it before using it on your car

What sort of speed would you recommend?
Packaging for wheel say max 4,000rpm but my drill only goes to 3,000 anyway.

Yeah under 1500 -3000 should be ok. Used to run one in either an old drill or a proper air tool which ran at 3k max. I didn't run the drill at full speed, just jogged the trigger on and off to keep the speed down.
