Welcome mate!

Definitely needs to come down to earth a bit.

I've got two XFs, both lowered, one on Kings on one Pedders - IMO Kings give better handling being a little stiffer, Pedders much more comfortable ride - and lowering will improve the handling regardless.

Cheers mate.

Yeah I really want to lower it, but I've only got a part time job at the moment, and I've just finished year 11.

I'm hopefully getting my P's on 29th December, and at the moment, I only occasionally take it out for a drive with my brother.

So hopefully, when I start driving it more often, it will motivate me to spend the money, and get it lowered :D

But until then, it drives well, so it isn't a necessity, but I'm saving up for it to be done :D

Country Pack Suspension, FTW!

Does it have a factory sump guard too?
That was part of the Ford country pack...

If you call up 13FORD, you can get a list of the build options for your XF.
It'd be interesting to see what it was optioned with, from new!

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a sump guard...

I can't remember seeing anything like that when I had it up on the hoist.

I'll crawl under it tomorrow and have a look though

Here's the build options, I got it a few months ago :D

interesting, says engine 23,557.. of 50,001 cars.. does that mean there were more 3.3 litre falcons made  i wonder

Remember all the different codes for hi comp, low comp, efi, nsw emissions etc.

Do they automatically add that production figure chart these days?

May have to redo my letters from Ford.

You have to specially request the build numbers, or they won't add the numbers

gday john  just wondering if you have done anymore to the ford  ?

I've been really slack over the last month... I've started to realign a few of the panels... And that's about it 😀

Oh... and I'm going for my licence today, so hopefully I'm going to start driving it more often 😀

Attempt a powerskid during the test? Lol

Haha. I can't use my XF for the pda, because it doesn't have a centrally mounted handbrake, so I used my parents Toyota Corolla

Just came back from a trip to Busselton. I drove about 550km all up, and only used about 55L of my 65L tank
The old crossy can be a great fuel-sipper if you stay off the pedal. They drive on torque, not power so can eat up the k's without trying. I did a Sydney-Canberra run sitting on 120-140 all the way in dad's XF EFI manual, got about 9L/100km. Excellent touring car for this country.

Ye ‘ol crossy will always be inherently torquey as most straight sixes due to the length & weight of the crankshaft. Likewise, no matter what you do to a V6 it will never be a torque monster.
