I had been looking around for a project for a while after settling into my new house .

I had half sorted to buy a charcoal xf ghia , then out of a blue a old xfalcon member contacts me and asked if I was intersted in his old xf project that had been laying in his shed for 7 years awaiting some love .

Anywho , I went and checked it today and decided to buy it , after a quick fiddle around she soon fired up and I then drove it 80kms home .

the engine isn't what I want , but the body's in good shape so I went halfs with a mate who wants the motor .

Specs

Mild 250 xflow , 10.5 comp , 240@50 solid cam , porting , and so on

Gas research

5 speed

3.7 diff gears

Full auto meter gauges

Neat paint , with some rust here and there .

So many other things , but it's kinda the gist .

Plan is to get it tidied up , get back on the road .

At some stage pull the xflow out and it will be replaced with a more turbo friendly ohc 4 litre and stay on lpg.

Hey Nath, nice project base you got there bud.. Looks familiar - who's was it?

That sticker needs to be replaced with the new and improved hehehe ;)

Neatxf I think was his forum name , matts his name .

Credit to him but , it's been well done , but he could never get the power out of the lpg , it makes 130hp at the wheels .

I really like these old xfalcon stickers , reminds me of some pretty good times .

That's not exactly a grandpa spec crossy though, 240 @ 0.050" solid is no grocery-getter cam, nor is 10.5:1 comp. How does it run on gas? Does it run out of breath? Gas needs lots of plenum and runner volume to counter the extra room that the gas takes up.

It runs and drives well . Just lacking a bit , feels flat over 3.500 ish .

I have a Aussie speed manifold I might try with a v8 gas research adapter , the engine will end up in the long run on 98 but .

I don't remember the car, but I love the gauge setup.

He's certainly spent some time on it.

Looks like a nice easy project really..

Still got some of those xfalcon stickers somewhere,

That is a nice sedan!

The GRA on the efi manifold intrigues me, particularly the air intake duct, has the battery been relocated?

Yeah mate .

The battery is in the boot .

Started to get my xf ready for rego , had some rust forming on the Gaurd . Turned out to be worse than i thought . Cut out rusty steel and rust treated it . Just have to weld some new steel in .

Also some other pictures of the car .

Boring stuff . Fixed the rust and painted the Lower Gaurd.

The doors were horrible to open , turns out I moved the drivers door back to far , but they open much better .

Speedo cable and fix/remove the power windows and I can think about getting it back on the road

Lashed out on a inverter mig/tig , possibly the best welders I've used for sheet metal .

Top stuff ,,

look cumfy

going by pic there ,, the rear trimmed the same ,?

The seats are really racey , the hold you in well . But they are fairly comfortable. The rear seat is a stock ghia seat , they don't match , but there pretty close .
