Anyone used a tablet for their audio needs?

Seeing as the stereo in the ute is crap and the fascia is in need of some TLC i have been toying with the idea of making a custom fascia and using something like a samsung table or an ipad as the audio source.

 

This can be wired up with a usb charger hardwired to supply the power and a 3.5mm audio plug feeding a small amp for the speakers.

 

I have seen it done on youtube in a ricer but not a X series.

 

Has anyone on here done this yet?

 

Just looking for ideas and thoughts.

well i was just sitting here thinking if its worth getting a tablet to try out my idea and then i remembered a spare one i had in the cupboard - 7" Samsung Galaxy with 8 gig memory.

 

 

This idea now has a pair of legs!

Pretty sure mighty car mods did a video on this aswell(if that's not the video your remembering),should have some good ideas in that for you
