Nadsengineering 0 Posted March 11, 2016 Hi guys, im new to all this forum stuff so bare with me, I know this topic has probably been repeated heaps, but I am looking for a correct thermostat to suit 351 cleveland, the one that seals off the bypass brass port correctly. have been running tridon high flow but i believe i am needing the correct 333-180 type. Have searched high and low to no avail and local parts shops are not helpful at all, they will get me a dayco dt66a thermosat, but open the box and it is a windosr type that is marked 330-180 Looking forward to hearing what thermostat everyone uses and any other suggestions and where they source the correct part kind regards Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

cpe351 3 Posted October 18, 2016 If your clevo has the brass plate installed in place then even the standard thermostat blocks the bypass,,, when it opens the plunger slides into the hole allowing 3/5's of stuff all to go back through and directs it through the radiator,, the foot type seals it like a tap washer,, I've been running std type 160's for years and mine always run cool,,, if your clevo runs hot I'd suggest you have other issues to look at as well. gerg 10,871 Posted October 25, 2016 You need to be careful with clevos that you don't remove too much restriction from the pressure side of the system, as this causes cavitation in the pump impeller and flow actually reduces, even stops in some cases. Clevos are among the worst in this aspect, especially above 3000 rpm. I saw a video of a clevo pump spinning, filmed through a Perspex cover on the back of it. The water formed a huge bubble in the centre of the impeller and flow slowed right down. Amazing to watch. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
