gromet88 3,042 Posted January 11, 2016 OK, after reading that a few times, You would like to know the inside diameter so you can find some heavy springs to fit? Have you been to your local Repco/Sprint/Autobarn? They would be able to tell the number straight up, and if you find a half decent (rare these days) attendant, they might actually be able to point you in the right direction. What do you need hardier set for? Have you thought about Air Shocks? 1 Shaun Morgan reacted to this

Thom 6,639 Posted January 12, 2016 You'd be better off looking at some stiffer shocks rather than changing springs, I put a set of billstiens in my nl I used to have and it made a dramatic difference to how the car rode and towed for the better
MNTL.XD 3,831 Posted January 12, 2016 I'd just buy a pair of Pedders or Kings. Each coil is twice as thick as standard springs, maybe some air shocks or ride leveller kit to suit.
bear351c 10,260 Posted January 12, 2016 If you change shockers, you'll have to disconnect the self levelling suspension air pump. ( I think) Standard Kings coils are 15% stiffer than standard Ford coils. Visit the Kingsprings website, look up the number of the coils for the rear,(eg: KRL 1234) and find a second hand set on ebay. $80 -$100. Can get them standard height, lower, extra lowered and even raised height.
