TUFE 284 Posted June 23, 2015 Hey y'all, mate of mine has an '66 XR sedan he is fixing up. He wants to know about good brake upgrades to make (read: not wilwoods all around etc). Later model falcon stuff fit them? Booster improvements? AFAIK he will be running a standard 6 in there (will make him install windsor at some point), will an e-series wagon or ute diff bolt in? They are wider but is it worth it? Cheers guys
Ants 6,370 Posted June 23, 2015 Eseries diff will fit straight in. He can use xa onwards stuff to get front discs. Best to adapt an xy booster and master cylinder, the remote xr ones are hard to find and rubbish. 4 Thom, XTREME KARTS XF, Gaz and 1 other reacted to this
TUFE 284 Posted June 23, 2015 XT and XY boosters the same? Think he was looking at an XT
Gaz 1,085 Posted June 23, 2015 XT still had the remote booster. XW was the first model with the Master/booster combo. 1 Thom reacted to this
Olive Xm 34 Posted June 23, 2015 Rod Hadfield dose a drop stub axle that lowers the car and you can run BA front callipers on the std XD-XF discs. All engineered. stubtech.com.au

TUFE 284 Posted June 24, 2015 Good boy. and then join Ozfalcon....... and then a build thread....... with lots of piccies....... and a video. Yep probably will happen, Ive been speaking to him via msg because I'm OS this year so I dont get the full picture. He did say yesterday that he would like to drop in a windsor with self learning efi so I'll take that as a win. Body is apparantly quite rusty so it might be a looong project 3 bear351c, slydog and Thom reacted to this

gregaust 319 Posted June 28, 2015 If that is right about CRS using BA caliper on stock disc? , That is BAD . The BA calipers are designed for a 28mm rotor , the earlier rotors are too thin. Might be ok while the pads are new . 2 slydog and Outback Jack reacted to this
