mcfly94 169 Posted March 30, 2013 Im looking to get my roughly 8.97 comp up to 9.5, only 0.2 more than factory, i put an early open chamber head and the comp went down a fair amount, i was looking at getting it shaved, how much would i need to shave off it? NZXD 2,328 Posted March 30, 2013 I think you need to work out chamber volume first, if you take too much off it can affect the pushrod length. Might be easier to get smaller chambered head. I had this problem when ito went alloys on my windsor and I ended up zero decking the block.
mcfly94 169 Posted March 31, 2013 pretty sure its 54cc I think you need to work out chamber volume first, if you take too much off it can affect the pushrod length. slydog 7,873 Posted March 31, 2013 Pretty sure isn't good enough bro...take it to a/the shop to deck it and tell them your desired compression ratio along with the piston cc and it will be right. They will have to measure the chambers to find out how much to take off it. Clevo120Y 815 Posted March 31, 2013 Replace your head with a C1 or C1A that will get you there, plus the valves are bigger standard than the unmarked heads from memory. 1 xSMOKEx reacted to this
