Whirla 2 Posted January 17, 2015 After finding a crack in my head on my XG I was able to find a replacement at the wreckers in good nick. Installed new head gasket/ bolts etc but when I went to fit timing chain sprocket it doesn't locate into the locating hole. It seems about 180degrees out. What do I do?? PRO250 1,506 Posted January 17, 2015 Did you set both engines on TDC before removing the head?theres not enough info to realy help. if you have set the engine on tdc and cable tied the chain to the gear if it does not line up you know its the head and just turn the cam till its in the right spot and refit if you have not done that you will have to line the chain up with the engine on tdc and try again 5 Stevemack, Clevo120Y, Outback Jack and 2 others reacted to this
Falcman007 100 Posted April 1, 2015 If you didn't release the chain tensioner you will have that problem. If you force it on there without releasing the tensioner it will be way to tight and you'll stuff the cogs. 1 Outback Jack reacted to this
S33YA 33 Posted June 5, 2015 Also when I did my xg I unbolted all the rocker gear, then fit chain as it's heaps easier to line up. Otherwise your fighting the valve springs 1 XTREME KARTS XF reacted to this
