xander57 2 Posted September 7, 2014 Hi I've got a 87 xf carby with est got no spark I put a new coil still nothing I checked the coil wires they show 12.34v connected to coil it drops to 0.01v (not sure if that's normal). I also ran a plug off the coil when you turn ignition on it sparks once turn it over and nothing and sometimes sparks when you turn ignition off. Does anyone have any ideas
Valvebouncer 2,389 Posted September 7, 2014 That spark is from coil saturation- constant power to charge it up. That shows that everything is still connected but no trigger to switch the power off and on. I could be multiple things, dizzy sensor, module, est computer. That's all I got, sorry! Lol. Maybe someone else could diagnose more.
SPArKy_Dave 8,863 Posted September 7, 2014 I'd try replacing the hall effect sensor/pickup module in the distributor. That would be the next place I'd look. Also make sure you have power to the EST module - check your battery connections, fusible links and so-forth. 3 slydog, revhead and Outback Jack reacted to this
