have fun with brakes, i've had good ones, and many many crap brakes on falcons.. no idea what was better or worse. PBR calipers on front were the ones that worked properly all the time

Cheers Dean!
Not the best at links and stuff... hehe.
Pretty sure its pbr front and girlock rears.... will have to check.

Think I'll do steering bits, clean up brakes, new pads and get a disk skim done on the DBA T2's when I go for wheel alignment / balance.

Got a few bills to pay so will have to do what I can for now.
Could just be glazed rotors and/or pads.  A lot of folk just change pads 2 or 3 times, but never get the rotor machined.
Yeah Im thinking pads Bear... so many clowns played with them, bound to be contaminated.
Will clean everything with brake cleaner then lube back up and see how we go... no joy... skim.
You mean they don't spin the disc with an angle grinder held up to it (which someone may or may not have done before)

I can see the engineering shop fresh machine work from that now. ...
How to wreck a perfectly good disk...
Hahaha. Classic.

May get to test out me aircon soon... getting a tad warm this week.
Lubbly.

Jack.

we have the same small compressor

Cheap and Nasty. .. but two adjustable pressure reg outlets... nice. Good for tyres and stuff on one, airbrush on other.

60psi for tyres, no more than 30psi for airbrush. Usually 22-28psi.

I have painted a few of my car's with one of those... lol

Its not too bad... like all cheapies, it lacks in tabk size and refresh rate...

Perfect for airbrush though... hardly comes on.

Just waiting on bits... lithium grease for ute stuff so can use spring compressor, the brake ceramic grease, brake cleaner., etc to get started and sort her out.

So got busy, ready to hang me flat screen above fire... then will build a fancy mantle for it.

Just got to make some longer spacers fot tv mounts , wait for me stud finder/level and its coach bolts to Jarrah stud time.... sweet.

Ute is a mission.... steering/suspension. .. AOK... brakes... well... clean em right up, lube... new pads.... .. see what happens...

Next week...

Jack.

Just been using this round house until all car bits are here.

5 in 1 tool for levelling, measuring,

Finds wood studs, AC wiring and metal studs.

Also tells room temps and can do m2 and m3 calculations in one tool.

Not too shabby.

89b1234352bce5fd2c3e89ff549708d5.jpg

$40 on ebay. Other name brands were 2-3 times the price.

But I bet it doesn’t complain when it gets home from work and tell you every useless detail of the day’s events
No complaints in my house... make your complaints to the Rottweiler. .. she's deaf...... hehe.

No wukkas VB,
Its pretty good but you need a fresh battery or stud sensor goes a bit shit and misreads. My battery was about 2010 duracell... and it still got the job done almost on empty.

Bloody cheap chinese coach bolts snapped before could tighten up... absolute crap.... now has 4 x 65mm wood roofing techs.
Locked the drill up too far and fried the motor....hehe.... was stuffed anyway.
Finally measured it all up and got it on the wall.... not over the fire... studs all over the show.
Under the aircon it went.... still got to wire up speakers but got to extend a couple first so they reach reciever.

Biggest tips...
1. Non tilt bracket... 90cm from floor
2. Tilt bracket.... 100-120cm.
Makes it so you dont crane neck or lose screen clarity on cheaper screens with low viewing angles.

My first one... so its still up... happy.

Pics....

She only watches Cruft dog shows... like Rottweiler porn.... then she likes the sofa and I go to the pub...
30 year old hard wood and cheap coach bolts ...wouldnt be fun i imagine.
Wasn't too bad mate but even pre drilling holes didnt help.
Just weak bolt metal... fatigues even before you get it to hold the bracket.

All up now... works nice... got me centre channel speaker mounting getting closer to finalized.

Ok..... have got the last of my bits for ute.
Ando tipped me off about a sale on a 6tonne press... $150. Done.
Dog had to go for injection anyway... cough cough.

I just installed a 3 light solar kit in garage... pretty cool, came in mail today... took 15 minutes to put up.
3 lights - 5-6 hours.
1 light- 15 hours.
All on a 3000mAh battery and a lil solar panel about 20 × 30cm.
Thats already on shed roof.

Some pics of the press and the mini light system....

That press will come in real handy, matey. !   Wish I had bought one years ago.  Got access to one at work, but, it's a pain in the ass getting stuff there.!

Love the lights too. good score.

Weighs 34kg so be warned...

It does alk the shit I have to pay someone to do bear... so thats a money saver there.
Lights arent bad, dont like the usb connectors... bit weak.
Makes a huge difference.
the press is the best tool ever for uni joints.
Yeah, smacking them with a hammer and a punch sucks.
Sure is....... and bearings, oil seals, suspension bushes,
Mwahahaha.... and pressing grapes... flowers.... trousers....

Soon my pretty... soon......

Jack.

Do you need press bits??? You can get them at super cheap too. In regards to the punching the cups into a uni, that made me laugh. I was helpin a farmer replace a uni on the back of his ute one day trying to be all careful and we couldn’t get it to go fully back together so we asked another bloke that had “mechanical experience.” He told us to get out of the way and used a 10mm punch to drive the cup fully home. Yep, it went home alright then when the cup stopped moving the punch smashed through the cup and hit the cross of the uni. That was the end of that new uni, another 60 km trip to town to get a replacement uni

Haha. Always the way. Further you are away from stuff the more and more urgently you need it.

Yeah I need bits... lol. As with your uni... 150km away.
Sockets will get bushes out no prob.

Only need to do top arms on this job and maybe something else.
Will come in handy for bearings later and stuff.

Bit cold today.... thats my excuse anyway.... hehe.

Jack.

like My brother fitting a new uni to his EB falcon, cap wouldn't go on no matter how hard you hit it(HE TRIED, and with my BFHammer) missed out by 1mm.. which evidently is the same thickness as one of the needle rollers inside that falls over on setup....surprisingly when replaced(one needle roller) with the best looking rooted one from the old uni it still worked for the 100,000kms he had the car for.. .
i suspect a press may not give you the NOISE clue, but if it misses by 1mm to get the clip in, could well be a roller sideways

Haha. Nope.
Just have the good sense to snap up a couple grand of paint for $250 when a hardware clears out base coats. Just got to tint what I want to use..... free.... part of the deal.
I took the lot... good and bad....
The other half is on my ungrateful ex mates house... applied inside...
Not thrown over it.... hehe.
