Ando81 2,949 Posted December 6, 2013 Yeah I have heard that shrouds are designed to draw air through the radiator more efficiently, it sort of funnels the air from the front surface of the whole radiator and as the fan draws the air through the radiator it has a better cooling effect. Without a shroud it is easier for the fan to suck air from the sides of the radiator and in turn not dragging the cool air though the cooling tubes of the radiator. I learnt this after a mate cooked his motor in his bobcat all because he couldn't be stuffed fitting the shroud back in after cleaning out the radiator, big rookie error! Mr Polson 10,214 Posted December 6, 2013 Right, I'm noticing all this stuff in the factory manual I've just gotten. I'm pretty sure the radiator itself is the wider one. Easy to tell, if the top rad hose goes on at an angle, its a heavy duty. If its square onto the the rad, its the smaller one. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
