Anyone know the process for reading codes from an au series 3?

My au has a bad misfire and the abs dosent work, I have an elm 327 adapter and forscan but ive heard that it uses a different standard to regular obd2. Any suggestions?

keen to hear anything on this process, how do you know the ABS doesn't work?
@SPArKy_Dave would have a good clue?

Well the abs module was unplugged and after plugging it in the abs light stays on and when hitting the brakes they behave like an old non abs car. 

 

Im gonna hunt down my elm 327 adapter but I read somewhere that you can use a terminal to communicate with the computer

I use a elm327 with the forscan lite app, it's sometimes painful to get connected to au's but once you do its very useful for diagnostics, ba-fgx work pretty well with it though
