Adrian853 59 Posted September 26 I have XA with manual steering and trying to swap to XF power steering box which I thought was pretty straightforward; just shorten the steering column. Haven’t seen it myself but apparently would have to modify the chassis for the power steering box to fit.The power steering box I have is supposed to be out of a 1985 XF Fairmont. Are there different types of power steering box? XA manual box topXF power steering box bottom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk sorry i missed this, yes, just tap up or down the steering shaft(collapsible) to suit the height change and it bolts straight in. XA to XG (XG pipes different but ultimately the same) pitman arm is different for power steering box also.
Adrian853 59 Posted September 27 Yep, bolts straight in once the Cleveland has been detached from its mounts and lifted up to get clearance!Steering column slid up quite easily.Power steer Pitman arm came with the box and no issues with it mating to the XA’s steering gear.Just trying to source the right fittings for high pressure hose at pump and the steering box.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 deankxf reacted to this
Adrian853 59 Posted September 27 Fittings all sorted. Power steering up and running! Apparently it’s not as light as the mechanic would expect but will see how it goes on the road test tomorrow morning (UK time) after the Bledisloe Cup match.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 deankxf reacted to this
