89 XF Weber 34 Air Cleaner

Recommended Posts

Hey, what’s the best bet with the air cleaner assembly, I would keep the stock one but it’s in rough shape. I purchased a 9x2 air filter assembly thinking it would come with everything I need to install, but it doesn’t even come close. Not sure what to buy that will fit right on, or what parts to buy to help it fit on.

Thanks

You'll need to find one, which has a Weber carby adaptor (oval shaped hole).
Ebay usually has one or two listings.

Thanks. I’ve had a Quick Look on there and it seems to be a different shape, maybe I don’t have the carby I think I do. I’ll post a pic of it, maybe I’m wrong.c845083af1314747b7e8fcc682d265cc.jpg

that kit above is to fit a Falcon or cortina weber carby  onto something like a gemini or datsun (i have one on my gemini currently)

the air cleaner adapter on the base should look like this .. if so it will bolt on first,  then you put the element on and then the lid.

i prefer the stock filter, paint it black and hit the track.. what's wrong with it?  *(some XFs even had cold air intake ducting past the battery to them, rather than the hot air these chrome ones are getting)

It’s got the exact setup you’re talking about, with the ducting behind the battery. Looks like I’ll have to give it a makeover.

they aren't for car shows.. keep the bonnet closed unless checking the oil etc

even when they have been heavily modified, they don't really look amazing
