XFtoXE got a reaction from bear351c in Cleveland lifters
What I have found since pulling it apart is 020 bore. New timing gear. Standard iron heads ported. RPM air gap manifold ported. extractors 4 into 1.
Sound like a v8 mainly with a bit of extra go

XFtoXE got a reaction from scottly in Cleveland lifters
I didn't know much about this engine when I bought it except what they told me. But some previous replies jogged my memory. First thing I did was to pressure test the cylinders. So all going well until number 6 (the lifter in question)and no pressure at all. I did this twice and no pressure thinking that the gauge is not working, third time I tried it came up 140 psi and thought no more about it.
So is it possible the lobe was damaged at this time.

XFtoXE got a reaction from CHESTNUTXE in Cleveland lifters
Hey guys
I had a problem starting up a 302 after it had been sitting for a while. Not sure how long, but was told it had new lifters and heads had been remanufactured. So after putting it on a engine stand and starting it up, it would only run for about 2 minutes and then stall. After pulling it apart and not finding any thing wrong until I pulled out the lifters all were good except one which is stuffed.
Any answers why this would happen will be appreciated
Cheers

Not yet mate definitely next on the list, just quickly going to try ground distributor straight to battery cause I have a funny feeling where I'm grounding it may be an issue, but after that going to chuck his dizzy on. Just have to punch my gear on it cause he's one just has the standard strength one

XFtoXE got a reaction from gregaust in Brake booster
Hi all
Need some help with a brake booster out of a XE. I don't want to spend $400+ on a refurbished one, so i'm after a kit with the diaphragms but can't find anyone that sells them.
Does anybody know where to find one. If not is there a later model booster that will fit for example XF or later.
Any help appreciated. Peter.

XFtoXE got a reaction from deankxf in BW-35 3 speed knocking noise
Well for $28 the Pedders check was good value. Turned out to be the LH eye bolt was loose, and they tightened it for FREE.
But the rest of the check ranging from adjusting wheel bearings $40 to various worn bushes added up to more than the ute is worth.
Cheers and thanks again.

Thanks for those ideas, but all appear to be ok. To me anyway.
Booked it into Pedders for a check tomorrow and i'll let you know if they find the problem.

XFtoXE reacted to Mr Polson in ZL Fairlane Aircon set up on a Clevo 351
Falcon with low mount air con at AFD 2016. Used a universal compressor with custom hoses and custom brackets.
Bolts into the head somewhere and just in front of the engine mount. And couple of other places I think. Hard to take photos of.

XFtoXE got a reaction from deankxf in Can't open the XE bonnet
Found a loom at centre road wreckers out of a v8 which is a very rare find at a self serve wreckers
Also bonnet cable, C4 inhibitor switch and a pocket full of nuts and bolts to cover the $2.00 entry fee.
Cost me under $50 so it was a good day.

Not sure how the fire started most likely electrical as per your post.
No fire in the cabin but a lot of plastic has melt under dash.
I consider myself lucky as I pulled up next to a auto shop and they came out with a extinguisher and a fire station just around the corner
were there in 15 minutes.
If 6 cylinder loom is the same that would be good.
