some of the early aussie open chamber clevo heads are usa numberd, but buy the time we cast our own they had AR number cast into them, usa cleveland in std form were all 2 barrel manifold and 2v open chamber heads,4 barrel motors had 4v heads.in both closed and open chamber, interesting note, late 73 74 cobra jet 4 v headed engine had 2v size valves put in them.

yes i have used ultimas in all my cars and they are ok,after putting low springs in xe's for years i only now use std or sports height cause the others are just too dam low especily for v8s,best height is the esp ride height.

oo\li have lived on the gold coast for 20 years and lived at many waterfront places as there is millions of them and they all connect to the ocean and tidal in some way or the water goes stagnent,i think not until you get to robina there is spillways ect ,and very brakish water that can overflow if flood.

you will need a flexible dipstick on a c6 as no aussie cars came with c6,or maybe a mustang c6 one might work, also you will need to make trans lines up for a c6,at the end of the day all three gearboxes will work fmx can be had very cheap, and is a dam strong gearbox ,only downside is weight and ya need 31 spline yoke and new uni to mate it too ya tailshaft, but if ya already bought a shifter keep looking for a c4 pan fill ,its light, everything fits, and then lay down a rubber road.
-
you could go either way,and yes c4s are now getting very pricey for a core, once upon a time c4 panfils were everywhere and $200 got you a good starting point ,the c6 is ok ,i fitted one to my old 400 in the xf ute and bolted in easy, fmx has same yolk 31 spline, and is a little bit heavier, also generaly extractors fit c4 or fmx,but c6 might need a custom set.

you can convert the 6cyl to a v8 style box with the pedal kit ,some minor grinding and mucking around but it works.
-
correct thermostat is Trident 2023-180 ,about $40
-
yes its a very generic cam,a bit on the small size but remember it only has new stamped steel rockers and didnt want to go crazy on lift .also springs suit up to 540 lift.
-
before i put it on the stand paint the rear of the block and fit cam plug and 2 oil plugs, cause its near impossible to paint it properly once its on the engine stand.
-
water neck, sump, balancer, heads, and heaps more interchange with the normal cleveland, interesting note the later 351m used a different balancer .
-
its a ford one copied by a aussie company ,steel is nice,im so over cleaning 50 year old timing plates, cause the water pump fks em.
-
i dont no what all the fuss is about ,its usually the c6 that has clearance problems, pacemakers should fit straight in,i even put a set on my last 400 into xf and it worked with bulky std starter and c6 with flexible stick.
-
maybe he is using the new extend a deck by k tel, fits any w or c .

im thinking of taking my beefy 400 block to get it sonic tested ,just to see how much meat is really on it,olm8 at the machine shop said it has almost siamese bores ,about half way down the walls its as if its joined together compard to normal blocks, well thats what it looks like anyway,i wonder how much it would cost to do that, maybe $200 ?.
-
hey why cant the 400 crank mains be ground down to 2.749 and fit in a normal cleveland block ? is that too much meat to be taken off ? or line bore the block to 3.000 ?
