Hi looking at getting a pair of 15x10 wheels on the back of my xw falcon. Would 295s or just stick with 275s. Would a 5" backspace be ok as well?

Sorry to bring up a old tread but just put 15x10 wheels with 5'' bs and 265/50/15 tyres and fits like a glove.
-
Thanks for that see where you are coming from.

Like I've said I'm not after massive hp gain, low-mid range power and toque cause it is a street car and I really don't like the look of the Paxton charger.

Hi all, Just want to know what are some recommend diff places around Brisbane/ Gold Coast? Looking at getting my diff shorten and want to speak to someone, who knows what they are on about. Anybody tell me what a rough ballpark figure on what it would cost? Cheers...

I'm just doing the final touches on the body work, then I'll be starting on the motor with a compression test and going from there. I'll be putting a build thread up soon so I'll keep ya updated.

To be honest I couldn't tell you but the windsor's do leave a lot more room in the engine compared to the Cleveland's. To be on the safe side I'm going to leave the bonnet in hi-fill primer to I work out what I'm going to do. I'm not looking for massive power but bolt it on is easy power.
-
I hear ya. They do say the bonnet may need some work to make it fit but I've some xw-xy with them and most of them fitted under the bonnet with no cutting or need for boonet scoops.

I personal think its a great way to go providing you do everything right and keep the boost and rpm low. NZXD when you say stuff gets in the way you talk engine or life?

Would the centres be interchangeable?
-
What are the chances of a xd lsd centre going in to a xy housing? Both diffs are borgy's. Cheers
-
Xd diff/centre is a 2.92 ratio and the xy diff/centre is a 3.23. Can the diff gears be changed over? The reason behind this is I brought a xy borgy diff with 3.23 ratio got told it was in very good working order, took it home went to drop the oil out of it and not a drop. The lsd centre looks a bit ratty. I know the xd diff is a 0578 I can see the part number on the housing but the xy diff I cant find one only got the id tag.

Hi all, I'm getting a set of extractor for my XW which is a column shift auto. Now every website of all the brands I've looked say gear select linkage needs to be modified. Can everyone shed some light on the modification that needs to be done, is it straighting or bending of rods, or making a whole new linkage. Cheers

Haha so change of direction, I spoke to the guys at Aussie diffs and the direction they suggested is cause I'm not using the car for burnouts or drag racing, is that I just stick with the diff that's in the xw now and put the lsd out of the xd diff on in the xw, shorten the diff if necessary and just run drum brakes for the time being.
-
The wheels should be here today or tomorrow. I'll chuck them on the xw with the standard diff in to see how far they come and I'll go from there with the xd diff that's going in.
-
Taking 2" off each side, will that effect the spring mounting pads at all? Will I be able to take that much off the xd diff?
-
Ok sounds good. Thanks for all the help.
-
cheers for that. Ill have to wait until my wheels get deliver then I can get to measuring
-
Is that 2'' each side or overall?
-
The diff im putting in is a standard width xd diff.

Hi, I'm looking at getting some centreline retro wheels with 15x10 5" backspace rears, now I want to get deep dish on the rear. Getting deep dish how does that affect the backspace, do you get a lesser backspace for more dish? Cheers
