I think they need an adaptor bracket to go onto the original rails which is where I think the issue is.

Looking on the site it seems they're ADR approved but that doesn't mean it won't need a cert I think. Suppose I can just put a seat cover on the originals for the inspection

Haha that's the best, wish I still had a mate who worked there.

Yeah there's heaps of options, some look stockish too. As long as it doesn't require an engineer cert to pass inspection or something stupid like that I'll get a set.

I just dropped the radiator out of the ZK at my radiator shop to have it checked out.  He's old school and one of the last guys in the region that can still do brazing work.

Initial look revealed that the core may need some work.

I'll report back with what he did and the cost next Wednesday.

    yeah it's not unusual.. BUT.

    @Nato of Falcons
    from that VISUAL,
you may find the radiator is fine, just reverse flush it, and see if you can see water flowing through the tubes (alloy radiators are cheap at least)..

what you will likely find, or find out soon. is the welsh plugs are on their way out.(there's one behind the inlet manifold also ON the manifold)and one behind the flywheel.
and. the biggest risk in my opinion, is the water pump if it's got the steel fan type (genuine ford had a cast iron impeller that would last longer than the seal at least) anyway, the fan blades can rust away.
AND, the other risk is rusted bolts in the block from the water pump.

all good learning stuff. not fun for new players.
but. the XF is THE BEST CAR FOR LEARNING..
one of the easiest things to work on this side of a gemini.

Absolutely wouldn't be replacing the radiator because of this.
Tanks off and clean at worst, unless the radiator is actually fubar

you'll need to rely on @SPArKy_Dave in 12 days time, I'm taking a break for an unknown time. few other members on the ball but many have been slowly stepping back also.
the information is here, and you'd probably read about fuel line blockage in the gregorys manual also

XE and XF EFI wagons used an external pump, so there must be a way to do it.

EFI wagons had a low pressure internal pump which fed the high pressure external pump.

    OMG!!!!
that's got to be stickied, plastered all over the interwebs and facebook groups

IMAGINE that ratio with a 6cyl single rail, with a clevo, wouldn't need overdrive  and the 351 torque would pull away in 1st gear like it's nothing

But did they do that on a crossflow?  That's my point.

I'd happily use one. Without getting into a technical argument, I'd possibly go straight to the 4 barrel.

Can I suggest it needs tighter lobe seperation due to the poor induction on a xflow. The head flows like poo and there is more hp in the cyl head than you think when ported by a good shop not for a dirt slinger. By using 104-106 lobe will aid torque then the webbers and ported head extend rpm range and hp made if used with 11.5 comp plus. Generally I use no less than 8 degrees seperation between exhaust to inlet duration also.

I use Johnny Marshall of Marshall custom cams and Phill Duggan of Surecam.

Well... my engine could be copied for nearly half of a $18,000 clevo. However every engine needs fuel system, ignition, exhaust and so on.

A turbo xflow is cheaper than a na clevo. Remember a clevo still needs cyl heads to work, ignition exhaust manifold carburettor and so on. But its all the same regardless of engine really.

A xflow bottom end needs a quality damper and flexplate. Pushrods, convert to a solid lifter cam and cyl head porting. Porting is free hp that all but doubles with boost.

But big 1 is how much can you do yourself if your asking money money money before you start. Money usually kills a build before it starts in most cases. I however just did it over many years...and still going.

First race out from turbo build raced a NA clevo XA. Beat it running a 10.7 to his 11.1.
Next meeting first race was against a clevo xy. We both went 10.3 129 but I won by a better reaction time. But my car costs way less than both of theres and beat em. However its still more than most want to spend which is the part that makes or breaks the car.
