Fuel filter, under ute, passenger side, just behind the door. Change that and see how you go.

Hey boys,
Cleaned throttle body right out, getting full range on it, everything seems to be fine.
Cleaned the air box, and replaced the element. No blockages. There’s something simple that I’m missing surely.

For Efi Falcons on LPG, its standard fare for the fuel pump to be running the whole time, that's why they always used to say you have to keep a minimum of 1/4 tanks of petrol so the pump doesn't burn out, when switching between gas and petrol all the switch does is turn the injectors on and off and turn the lpg lockoff on the opposite position, they are wired this way so that LPG and petrol can be switched instantly without having to wait for the fuel rail to be refilled if you haven't run on petrol for a long stint
Thanks for the confirmation. Swore I could hear it. Phew.
Changed fuel pump, still no power

Dunno dean I don't run gas on mine. Just seemed strange.
But its running shit both ways so must be flow, fuel, air or electronics.

It “was” running beautifully on both lpg and unleaded on the drive home. Then the pump started to sing after sitting for a few hours then driving again. It was about 240 km to drive it back, and it didn’t miss a beat. Then took it for half hour drive that night and the pump started to whine. I didn’t notice power loss at that stage because I was on gas, and also it was late at night in Warrandyte and I’m not quite use to the xg handling. So I wasn’t pushing it.
But then drove it yesterday and that’s when I noticed the power loss once it warmed up. It smells like it’s running rich over rotten egg smell.
Going to replace the fuel pump and put a new o2 sensor in and see what happens. Well and truly got me stumped

Redid all levels on everything

Full tank
Cleaned throttlebody, cable doesn’t seem to be stretched out. It also seems to idle and run beautifully. I’m completely at a loss

Hmmm.......
Maybe the pump is fooked.? Must run a continuous pressure line back to the tank. Do you have a regulator with a pressure gauge on it.? Could see the pressure drop.
Haven’t got the regulator to measure, but I’m still baffled as to why my powers out the window even in gas ? It runs ordinary on unleaded all of a sudden so I’ve got a feeling the pumps rooted

Neither did I, but bloke I bought it off- ex ford employee reckons it’s always ran the whole time..
Definite fuel pump. Can’t miss the old falcon fuel pump sound

Starts off sounding fine, relay kicks, pump rolls over and it’s all good, then once it’s bad the whirring is almost intolerable

Didn't think the fuel pump would run while you're on Gas? You sure it's not a uni joint, or wheel bearing etc..?

Gday boys, finally picked up my xg, and I’m finding it has some troubles with fuel pump even when running on gas.
Seems it’s buggered as it’s singing bloody loud the entire time the cars on once it’s been running a while and warmed up. Goes fine while it’s cold.
My question is whether or not a buggered fuel pump will make me loose power even on gas ? Coming home yesterday from a run up the road I could barely get to 80 with foot flat. Zero grunt.
Exhaust is pretty smelly, so I’m thinking the o2 sensor may be buggered too which could be a cause ?
Any other ideas fellas, I’m pulling my hair out
Cheers.

yeah its a shit time for redundancies..
i've been waiting to see what gets listed for sale.. i expect many unfinished covid lockdown projects in Melbourne.. what i have noticed is people trying to offer crap money thinking HA.. Needs cash, will have to sell? so be careful of those arseholes.. on the same foot though, the buyers might not be there for the same reason.
I've got to sell one of My gemini's soon, but i'm not giving it away if there's no market for it, i'll probably need parts off it for the other before long.
I did notice marketplace buzzing with heartbreak and regret. At this point I’m just going to hold on to them, and wait for the right guy who needs them. He can pay 150, but need them for the right reason and that’s incentive enough for me. I guess we are all doing it tough. Look on the bright side, my Ute looks filth and the suns shining

Redundancies suck cause they make you feel somewhat worthless. I got made redundant after 9.5 years at my last job. I realised then it wasnt me but poor management on behalf of the place i was working. Chin up a new opportunity will present itself.
Thanks for the positivity mate. I’m really glad I found this forum

Yeah look I wasn’t expecting to get 4, just hoping to give my self some bargaining power. But I guess I’d prefer keep them in terms of a couple hundred bucks.. just got made redundant and times are tougher than expected

I recon i only got $200 for mine with 4 stockies with new tyres.
Yeah right I, I’ll Facebook market place it for 3 and let the idiots talk me down
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Does anyone have a rough idea of what I should list my stockies for ?
I was thinking 400 for 5 wheels, 4 decent tires, one spare that’s a bit average.

anything SS is high on the list of a bogan with some cash.. even more than an XR6/XR8.. no idea why
My dream car is literally a kingswood ute.
But the cop bait era does nothing for me... and for some reason they’re more popular than real automotive genius
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
looks like an ATLAS GREY VN SS.. i could have bought one off a bloke at work 15yrs ago for $5,000.. bet they are more like 50k these days
I do not understand the price all pre2005 holdens are fetching.. the Kingswood and Torana days sure, but commodores are stains on the brands name for me.

Hate to be the one that notices ,,,
is that a bloody vn with a “drop tank ?”
Hahahahaha foul huh.

There’s something about ol’school wheels that just presses buttons the right way
Agreed mate. Touch of that magic that made us all love cars to begin with
