probably better off asking a few tuners directly.

    Xf diff strength.

there's possibly threads By @gerg regarding fitting 28 spline stuff to the 25 spline axles, but generally you'd just fit an EB ED EF EL diff (EF EL had the hand brake inside the disc but very much the same diff, probably more differences) the EB diff has a wider bush for the lower trailing arm, fit that (better) on one end of your XF trailing arms or if you get the EB ones, fit an XF one at the front and it will bolt in. some of the later diffs have adjustable pinion angle (2 sets of top trailing arm mounts, assume for lowered XR6 possible EB GT etc) i've had one and it was from a basic falcon but it wasn't in another so there's no definite finding source.

    Xf diff strength.

the EB diff is much stronger, XF diff is 25 spline 2 pin center EB diff 28 spline 4 pin center. if you stick a mild 351 in front of a NON LSD XF diff, it will break especially if you are spinning one wheel *(heats up the spider gear pins) if you have an LSD one they are better, i've had no issue with LSDs on 140rwkw ish power/torque (1UZ lexus or mild 351 both manuals) the reason I stuck with the XF LSD with the 1UZ is due to the engineer wanting Vented discs on rear retained (EB ones are solid) otherwise i'd have stuck the EB diff in. you can get 28spline in the XF style diff, the XE 351s had it and LTD with 351 etc. but they'd be barely possible to identify if you could even find one.

    Hard wire a jump starter

this is what i was thinking of, other battery can be anywhere really.

    Hard wire a jump starter

I have seen Anderson plugs mounted in various places(not sure on amps needed for jump starts)

    Hard wire a jump starter

you can chat to a camping solar dude @SPArKy_Dave may not be familiar with? 12v dual battery kits, but there are many that will shut the power off when the battery is still ok to start the van (suspect a 900cca even at 11v would crank that 4cyl van fine for eg) chuck a solar panel on the roof and you'd not likely to need a jump starter anyway depending on current draw of the system (I've only just scratched the surface of this stuff, i think it would be handy to have for future insecure 240v house supply)

    Hard wire a jump starter

what sort are you planning to use? there's no way i'd have Lithium Ion unattended on My car. and those little ones with a lead acid gel type battery are pretty crap. i'd sooner fit a dual battery setup if you had to have one?(why do you want one? just fit the best battery that fits in the space? @SPArKy_Dave might have some thoughts

    Stromberg BX Carb Identification

i think that is a throttle nudger for when you turn the air con on. probably don't NEED it anyway i don't know any differences, the ones i did have never gave any issue whatsoever.

    Removal of intake?

just the link is fine, just means we would need to click it to see. tapatalk app is free to my understanding, but i've still never used it. most people do use that way though.

have a read of this thread for how to make the photo show, i open the image in a new tab then "right click" copy image address and paste here

    Weber Carb 34ADM Master Thread

the people that know anything were likely 30-40yrs old when i got mine, that was 30yrs ago so they are likely retired or turned into managers/desk workers. biggest reason i went to Pedders instead of "other aligners" is they check to see if the suspension is worn before doing one. (got an alignment from Bob Jane about 20yrs ago and it chewed tyres like it was going out of style, took it to pedders, LOOK HOW WORN THE IDLER ARM and TIE Rod is, no hope of aligning that. ) Carby expert i dealt with last was still working at age 67 but passed away probably age 68 ish(was only working part time 3 days a week)

    AU 4.0L 1 - 6 miss.

@Bob Valdez a mate of mine just mentioned an issue with an EL his mate has. The injector for number 3 cylinder on my mates EL was BENT, causing a misfire assume damaged on install?

    XE Diff Ratio

would depend on your spool/lag turbo size i would think. if it's a small turbo that spools early (runs out of puff early) it's probably going to be pretty ok, but if its got no low end torque and comes in higher in the rev range i reckon it would be pretty painful to own. just being manual the 1st gear ratio is going to be better than a BW40 trans it's got now,

    XE Diff Ratio

i loved the 2.77 even with the crossflow and T5 for engines that make good torque from idle to 4000rpm like i had, My ute was happy doing 1850rpm in 5th with 2 x 100kg adults, 2 motorbikes in the back with 2 chainsaws and 6x4 trailer level with wood on the highway(would have been same fuel economy in 4th but less noise in 5th) if i didn't have overdrive i'd have tried the 2.53 for sure if they were common, i reckon 1st would be no worse with a single rail (6cyl one) as My XD was with the 351 version single rail and 2.92 gears i had once.
  16. deankxf

    XE Diff Ratio

the XE diff will be 25 spline so if you wanted to run 28 spline to my knowledge you'd need(i'm not 100% sure) 2.77 LSD center, if wanting LSD not sure if you can retro fit 4pin setup into them? (thought there was a 28 spline version though?) if you wanted those axles you'd need the 28 spline spider gears in the center(no idea if they fit) i think the EB axles will fit the drum diff if you put the correct bearings in and holders on? (never tried, haven't read about it for well over 10yrs) i think you can convert from drum to disc by drilling new holes in the disc caliper mountings and clocking them different (the flange on the diff is rotated differently for drum and disc. ) @Thom may remember, @gerg may know even if it was Mine, i'd be getting a 2.77 LSD diff with discs from an XF ghia/ZL fairlane etc (some were 2.92 for no apparent reason in my opinion) and then having the gears fitted to it. leaving it 25 spline unless you are going big hp (stock 351 would be fine with 25 spline, I never had 28 spline in anything i had not even the 1UZ conversion)

i would expect it possible if you had a diff dude who was willing

    XE Diff Ratio

it was mentioned 2.77 when i hears about it

    XE Diff Ratio

pretty sure if you've got enough power you'd just start in 2nd or 3rd i remember one of My cars would actually stop it doing a burnout on grass even if you held the brakes on hard.

    Six to eight single rail

what i would have loved but didn't know they existed was a 2.53 diff ratio. would have been like having overdrive and My engine would have been fine with it (LPG CAM)
  21. deankxf

    Six to eight single rail

yes, I CHOSE this setup on purpose about 25yrs ago when i did My 351 into XD. the 351 single rail used 3.23 diff gears to My understanding(could be wrong) but with the 2.92 diff it was pretty much perfect (clevo revs higher than a stock crossflow anyway) what you should make sure of ASAP is that the box is GOOD(the selector shaft seal often wears and leaks ALL the oil out and you'd never notice in the 6cyl) and I would STRONLY advise it to be rebuilt (same for any single rail or T5 even) because what i did was blew up THREE ($50 each back in the day) in a month that were all good in 6cyls. i ended up taking 4 into a reco mob and he chose the cortina 6cyl one to rebuild out of them all due to being in better condition. (possibly even shorter 1st gear) anyway, i liked it, the spread of gears was very "normal" if that's a way to describe it. I did 80,000kms with the reco one before the clutch died and i switched to an auto due to traffic driving me insane with it.

    Seat Options

EA to ED seats bolt directly in 1988 onwards XF van and ute. if you mean the rails. not sure if the seat parts swap to the older rails or not though. the tilt mechanism might be the exception to EA to ED seats, base model ones might be swappable. definitely check before committing. (take a seat rail with you perhaps
