  1. Been reading something interesting about cam bearings and thought id put some info together. Anyone that has a hot crossy tell us wat springs you use and cam and pressure... Me Crow 7338 springs shimmed to 140pd with 597' lift.

    So finally an update. My plans for the M112 fizzled due to the size and wanting to keep it all under the bonnet. Sooo... ive been hard in to it the last 2 days getting her setup as a turbo. Bloody not easy with alot of trial and error. Grinder has had a work out today and i actually had to notch the strut tower to fit the turbo. Will get the whole thing fitted out with piping and the new plenum and precision billet turbo than ill redo the engine bay haha. 3rd time better be the last time. Already sorted is a new precision billet turbo, 1000cc injectors, surge tank with all supporting lines pumps etc to suit E85, built BTR auto, 3inch system, standalone harness and other bits and bobs. My tuner reckons ill hit 500rwhp with the gear i have, so im looking for 10s

    Afternoon all ☺ Been a very long time since ive been on here. Thought id start a new thread with the new motor going into My 79 TE Cortina Ghia. The crossy is long gone and im going FG barra with T5 now with a twist... Im sick of seeing turbo barra cortys so im going the supercharger route. Number plates still suit my baby then too. Ive got a few photos but progress is slow as i have a Heavy Haulage business and my fleet is demanding haha. I will be running a BA inlet and standard exhaust for the time being but i have enlisted a Ali fabricator who will help me design the new intake for the M122 i am going to be using. This time around i will be tubbing it and a spare motor is being built to withstand the power im pushing for. Anyways pics so far... Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk

    As of an hour ago i found a brand new in the box M122 for $1000 so thats a great start haha and its only a couple of hours away. He also has a k frame for my FG which the ex bro in law stole and crashed. He is now in melbourne i hear lol but thats another story. Got a corty lined up to go in to the fabricator that already has an FG barra sitting in it. This way i can do all the stuff i need to to mine and then its a bolt on mani etc

    Ok so thought it was time to start a new thread with my new engine build im gonna do. Think we have it sussed wat is up with my engine. See my problems only started when i sleeved my number 1 bore and changed my cam. Ive ruled out my cam as it checks out fine and my cam tunnel is fine. So that leaves my block with the sleeved bore. Behind the waterpump you can see a crack and wen i pulled it down it is clear it has emulsified oil on the crack but the sleeve should be the new master bore right? Well if they are bored too far down then they end up in the oil gallery and wen the engine warms ups the crack spreads and the pressures pushes the oil up the crack into the water gallery. Thus stopping oil from getting to the middle cam bearings and starving my top end as well making it noisy. So sleeve was installed wrong and is causing problems. So time for a new block. New plans are to use Ross forged pistons that are 28cc and FG rods with the small end resized to suit the pistons. Machine the pistons down about 3mm or .118' and still have a shite load of meat. Will probaly machine less and have a positive deck height and up my comp and use an MLS headgasket. And also change my EVL valves to stainless ferrera units. So Basically a new stronger bottom end that can take it running leaner etc... I will be keeping everything else the same inc my cam for now haha Anyways thats just an update for the peeps that know my car and for the rest this is wat she is atm. This was all good for 272rwhp on a very safe tune, we made more but had to dial it back because it liked to run lean. We found out after this that i only had 9v going to my dizzy and after wiring it right she was a completely different car haha. Engine- 86da block 11.8/1cr EF crank 200 rods arp studs with acl pistons to suit Crow solid 647 with .596' lift Jp timing gears and chain C1 head with major work All crow springs retainers etc Yella terra adj rockers aussiespeed mani QFT 650dp R/series Msd 6350 proggrammable XF Tfi dizzy DC ewp80 85a alt ATI super damper Slightly modified Hurricane off the shelf extractors 3" straight through exhaust dumped B4 the diff Driveline- Stage 2 kitted C4 B&M Deep pan with temp gauge Allfast 4400 custom 8" convertor Derale Cooler Just six performance built custom diff with 28spline spool and 4.11 gears Just six performance 5stud and big brake upgrade all round Custom 3" tailshaft with spicer yokes Other mods- Custom dash and gauges B&m mega shifter Hidden wiring andbattery relocated 17" AU S1 XR8 rims Lowered 3" all round Well that basically sums it up up until now but its gonna change in a few areas very soon. Heres a few pics and a vid of her on the dyno. Feels good to start a new build thread lol. Bit messy but you get the idea- Engine Bay- How she sits and rear need the extra clearance trust me lol - Her ass and the T is on the back because i told my son (Tyler) it will be his wen his old enough and he just wanted to make sure i remember lol - Ass again but just showing the 235's look sweet but cant go any wider and they still dont hold traction at all haha. Front end- Underneath- And my last dyno run ;-)

    Good to see it coming along mate. I ran my engine with multi groove but you know that already haha Be ever so gentle with that cam as it needs to be run in properly and babied around for a while forever checking the lash. I have a new one here because I love the cam but im still nervous on crow units as 2 out of 3 ive used have wiped lobes. Be good to finally have another engine similar to mine with that cam to compare to ;-) Good work mate and wen dialled in my cam was spot on :-)

    XF crossflow head bolts

    Im with cyco. Crossy bolts arnt torque to yeild and are not required to be replaced. Thats coming from my mate that owns All Torque Cylinder head engineering. I have also done plenty of head gaskets and have never replaced them. Obviously I run studs in mine though lol. Good point on the thread pulling up ando.

    Hi all. Im gonna build a new donk for my ute and T5 it instead of the 302 and toploader its running now. I have some new 377 pistons and 5.7 chev rods but I cant find a crank anywhere. It seems that no one wants to offset grind one either. Im thinking of running a f246 cam and TFC mani with 750 dbl pumper. Msd dizzy and 6al. Ive got good extractors and half a dozen T5s I can break lol. Heads I am thinking just 2v casts with the usual port work and 4v inlets, roller rockers etc. But I do have a roller cam conversion made by howards. Just looking for hints and tips etc maybe some guesses on power I can make. Oh and where I can buy a crank to suit lol Cheers Chris

    I have this cam new in the box with matching lifters but have no idea what sort of engine it needs to run it lol. Looks like a nasty solid roller but howards have updated numbers since this was ground. What do you guys reckon???
