I think the floor shift ones, are the same as XF Ghia........ I think. If it was column shift - much easier - BK132L.

What kind of power/torque would you expect the above head/cam combo to create, compared to standard?

I also got a custom head built, that I haven't used on anything yet - Started with a brand new casting, had it ported and port matched to the standard XG log type manifold, stainless steel XR6 valves, crow 115lb dual springs, crow retainers and collets. Plus a Clive Cams cam, made from a new billet purchased from Crow. I got a crow vernier gear for the cam. Also got a head stud kit to use rather than bolts, and an ACL race series gasket kit. Any good?

Are the 91DA cams the EA cams everyone is talking about? Both my XG's came out with these cams. The 93 Panno, has a 91DA head too The 95 Ute, has a 94DA head. I'm also working on a 97 EL atm, which has a 96DA head, and a 95DA cam (but the cam is stuffed). Some of the lobe surfaces are eroding, and the same on the rocker arm rollers too. Never seen that before on an E-series. Oh well, an excuse for getting another custom cam. What cam specs would be recommended, for an engine that's auto, standard diff. Maybe light head porting, and a cat back exhaust too. Nothing too wild - would be stoked with 150rwkw, but high torque is much more important to me. Can you get new rollers for the rocker arms?

With one of my x-series, (an 84 XE wagon) the auto trans is behaving weirdly. All forward gears are perfect, hot or cold trans. Reverse gear is perfect when cold. BUT...... when the transmission is up to temperature, when selecting R for backwards..... ..... there is a delay of 1-2 seconds, before reverse gear engages. Once engaged, it operates normally. I have done two checks - checked the fluid level (correct and clean) checked the kick down cable for correct adjustment. Before I go any further into it, has anyone on here experienced this problem, and found the cause?

Can you do a tripe layer metallic pinstripe? I need to match up a damaged section on my two tone XF family edition wags.

Yep, Fairlane/LTD had speedo in the center of the cluster, with temp/fuel/ either side. No tacho or vacuum gauge, or warning lights.

Clive did my last cam. He's just up the road from me. Awesome fella to talk to. Cost $450 for a custom ground OHC 6 cam, from a new Crow Cams blank.

Does yours chirp the first to second change, like my XH does if you floor it, then back off a bit?

Where can I get one of those 24 valve twin cam heads for my crossflow?............

Believe me, you can feel them shaking themselves to pieces, anything more than about 4000rpm. Unless it's been modded, max torque is over at 3000rpm. I just think of the early GT exhausts - twin 2.25, dropping down to 2' for the tail pipes.

The commodores are all........ look at me, I like to rev, but I have no torque....... Speaking from everyday experience, even a basic modded EFI 5ltr holden V8 lack's lowdown torque. I get sick of constantly having to force a kickdown, cause there's no accelleration happening. But then you get too much, so you end up constantly hunting. Even my sisters V6 Mazda 929 yakuza staff car is the same. Frankly I prefer driving my standard XF/XG/XH 6cyl's so much more. They hate high revs, (over 4500 for the OHC's) but the torque is instant, and on tap at any time, in any gear.
