Mine doesnt? Maybe I have an older trans? Is your switch located on the selector shaft? I will have to try find an image online, not much about for FMX!

I have an 6 cyl XC with column auto that I am in the process of converting to V8. I am using an FMX trans. How do I set up the neutral safety switch, as the FMX would normally have it in the T-bar shifter? Is there one already in the column shift for the Borg Warner trans?

There's 2x 10mm bolts holding it to the throttle body bracket for those who wish to remove their Intake in future. I will continue to disassemble, This flu has fucked me side ways.i feel shit house.

Hi mate, can't see your pic for some reason... Don't forget the 4 little bolts either side of the carby. From memory they're 1/2" socket.?

Need to remove the intake so I can replace LIM Gasket. Im aware of the 6 bolts but where else is this sucker connected? here is a pic.

Blocked vent in the fuel cap.?? Try running it without the cap on. Sounds like a blocked filter, maybe one under the car where you can't see it.?

Agreed. Don't need an expensive cam plate. The cam moves forward slightly with resistance from the dizzy gear etc...But it's not a high load area. I've never bought a new plate, ever. Still got the 45 year old one in my XB, and that gets a good hammering every now and then.
Just make sure its nice and flat, no grooves in it, etc. DON'T over tighten the bolts, nice and firm with some blue never come off juice.!

Charles Goodyear filed his patent application for vulcanized rubber on February 24, 1844 (almost one hundred seventy-nine years ago today) Goodyear left school at age 12 to work in his father’s hardware store in Connecticut. At age 23 he married Clarissa Beecher and soon afterwards the couple moved to Philadelphia, where Goodyear opened a hardware store of his own. Goodyear was a competent merchant, but his passions were chemistry, materials science, and invention. In the late 1820s he became particularly fascinated with finding and improving practical applications for natural rubber (called India rubber). His experimentation would change the world, but Goodyear’s path to success would be challenging. In 1830, at age 29, Goodyear was suffering from health issues and his rubber experiments (which he had funded by borrowing) had not been successful. By the end of the year his business was bankrupt and he was thrown into debtor’s prison. In was an inauspicious beginning to his career as a scientist and inventor. The principal troubles with finding commercial applications for natural rubber was that the material was inelastic and was not durable, decomposing and becoming sticky depending on temperature. Goodyear was determined to find a chemical solution to overcome those issues, beginning his experiments while in jail. After numerous failures, his breakthrough came when he tried heating the rubber together with sulfur and other additives. In 1843 he wrote a friend, “I have invented a new process of hardening India rubber by means of sulphur and it is as much superior to the old method as the malleable iron is superior to cast iron. I have called it Vulcanization.” Goodyear filed his patent application for vulcanized rubber on February 24, 1844 (one hundred seventy-nine years ago today) and the patent was issued four months later. It is thanks to vulcanization that rubber can be used to make tires, shoe soles, hoses, and countless other items. It was one of the most profoundly important technological achievements of the 19th century. So, Charles Goodyear became wealthy as a result? Unfortunately, no. He continued to struggle financially for the rest of his life, embroiled in litigation with other inventors over the validity of his patent, preventing him from profiting from it. Meanwhile, his wife Clarissa contracted tuberculosis and much of the family’s income was devoted to her medical expenses and extensive travel in search of a cure. Clarissa died in 1848 at age 39, leaving six children, between the ages of 4 and 17. At age 54, while still struggling to defend his patents and commercialize his invention, Goodyear married 40-year-old Mary Starr (who had not previously been married) and the couple would go on to have two children together. It too was a happy marriage, but Goodyear was not destined to long enjoy it. Suffering the adverse effects of years of exposure to dangerous chemicals, Goodyear collapsed at a hotel in New York City on July 1, 1860, dying later that day. At the time of his death, he was 59 years old, penniless, and deeply in debt. The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, founded in Akron, Ohio by Frank Seiberling nearly 40 years later, was named in honor of Charles Goodyear. Neither Charles Goodyear nor anyone in his family was connected with the company. Reflecting on Goodyear’s achievements, the historian Samuel Eliot Morrison wrote, “The story of Goodyear and his discovery of vulcanization is one of the most interesting and instructive in the history of science and industry.” But, as he added, “It is also an epic of human suffering and triumph, for Goodyear's life was one of almost continuous struggle against poverty and ill health.” Goodyear himself was philosophical about his failure to achieve financial success, writing that he was not disposed to complain that he had planted and others had gathered the fruit. “The advantages of a career in life should not be estimated exclusively by the standard of dollars and cents, as is too often done. Man has just cause for regret when he sows and no one reaps.” -

I had one in my ute. I just stuck the aerial under the dash pad. Always worked perfectly fine, in fact it was always 100% accurate.
But I swapped it out for a hard wired unit for engineering as the GPS unit wasn't legal.

You were right to question that, upon further investigation I've found out it is not legal to have a GPS speedo in Australia.
"A speedometer that relies solely on GPS will not be able to meet ADR 18 and therefore will not be legal in Australia for a vehicle with ADR 18 on the conformity plate."
ADR 18 came in 2006 so I'm not quite sure if it applies to cars built from 2006 or applies to all cars no matter what year.
In the end it's up to the individual if they wan't to install a GPS speedo, I'm sure many have done mods that isn't exactly legal.

Polished the chinesium light covers on my Marsbar last year, need doing again. Mothers polish and a drill, 20 minutes later.....
Yeah..........I know.! Not a cool car. But the ones in the XB, just get chucked in the bin, and new ones fitted. Jobs done. LOL.

Hey all, thanks for the responses. Actually did some research into this, but have been a tad tied up with kids and family stuff over the xmas break to update.
What I found is, that yes indeed the bellhousings are different. If you are looking at the bellhousing from the flex plate's perspective, there is a sort of triangle casting that protrudes on the top left hand side. The larger triangle is for the 157 tooth, smaller for the 164 (came across this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN836E79rP8)
My flex plate is of the 164 tooth variety, so will just need to keep that in mind when inspecting C4's. Not alot around at the moment that is for sure!

I'm sure someone out there knows the answer to this one. I need to source a flex plate suitable for a C4 to back the clevo build. Can anyone tell me please, if the standard is the 164 or 157 tooth count?

Excellent, thanks for help, hooked up as mentioned and everything now works, can switch hot / cold and change air output from windscreen to face to feet. Another job sorted thanks to forum !

Reckon the top hose on the water pump goes straight to the firewall, then out to the heater tap, then to the lower brass take off spigot thingy. Yeah, and through a double clamp that hangs off the shock tower bolt.
Pretty sure VL 5.0 litre heater hose is the easiest to use, its about a metre long with a 90* bend on the end, so you don't end up kinking the hose. cant remember the number...... it's 3 am.

You'll be happy with a warmed over Clevo. Don't overthink it, just carb, cam, inlet manifold, ignition and extractors.
Don't rev her over 5 grand, last for years and enough torque to pull a house. If you want to go racing.......well, that's a WHOLE different Cleveland.

Still alive crunk.
Your link won't work for me, probably operator error at this end.
I would fit a manual gauge and check the pressure with that first and foremost.
Eliminates the chance of a dodgy sender unit.
Triple check all connections in the oil pressure sensor circuit from the sender to the ecu.
Once you have verified there actually is an issue, then can proceed to next step.
