  1. Would anyone have any idea where to get tonneau covers with the cutouts to suit sports bars? Am acquiring something shortly and a tonneau with the cutouts would come in quite handy! Thanks in advance. -Nate

    Show me your gauges

I've got the AU console in mine and I'd really like to get my hands on one of these custom holders, however it seems to be impossible now.. I'm actually contemplating getting some automotive styling clay and shaping it (slightly smaller than needed) then wrapping the clay in fibreglass. It'll be one hell of a job, but I'd have one killer out of the way gauge pod.

    X Series AC.topic

Cool info. I've got to get the A/C working on my XF once it's all back on the road. Seems I'll probably have to have custom lines made up to mate the AU compressor with the XF condenser and core. Need to work out wiring to have the compressor switch on, though I'm not 100% convinced the A/C switch and wires on the heater box actually do anything.. May be a matter of handing a shop the credit card and closing my eyes while they charge me for it.

    Eb T5 into au3 xr6

Well you can overcome the ECU issue with a J3 chip. But yes, Polson is right. AU T5 is longer, I forgot that.

    Eb T5 into au3 xr6

You'll need a T5 bellhousing to suit the AU motor. E series and AU bellhousings are different.

EF EL are only interchangeable with EF and EL mirrors. XH ute mirrors aren't interchangeable with EF EL either.

BA XLS E-Gas Woes - As per usual..

Yeah.. It's only 2 years overdue for service haha
  9. Ok, so driving the POS down to the servo tonight she starts losing power and cruising down the HWY at about 50km/h, which is happens when I've gotten a bit low on gas (gauge is fucked). Made it to the servo and filled up. However out of an apparent 90L filling capacity, I only squeezed in a touch over 55L. Should have been able to squeeze an easy 80L into it on empty. I've managed to put over 90L into it on a hot day. Anyone know why I'm not able to fill up to full capacity? Really starting to give me the shits. I know the guages on the tanks are knackered, but they've never given me issues filling it, I've had the LPG lock-off valves/solenoids on the two tanks replaced.

    SEATS

Probably just a matter of swapping rails over like into an XF you'll just lose all the electrics (height adjustment, etc)

    Third Row Seating

The only downside, I have to drop the petrol tank for one or two bolts - but that's an ok price to pay (not that it's costing me) to have the two older kids (8yo and 6yo) safely seated in the cargo area when all 7 of us are in the car.

    Third Row Seating

Anyone here able to, or know of an engineer in the South Eastern of Melb that can install third row seating (dickie seats)? Looking at an alternative to selling a perfectly good family car and downgrading to a Kia Carnival or the like. Can get third rows relatively cheap, however the dealer refuses to install anything that's second hand because they "can't get the installation instructions" - what a load of shit. I'm not paying out $3k for a fucking third row. 5th kid due mid Oct and I'm running out of time! TIA Cheers, -Nate

    Third Row Seating

They're category 2 and 3 seats (children upto 12yo), genuine Holden seats, fitted as per Holden's installation instructions, so they'll be mounted where they're meant to be. Vicroads states that seats for children installed as per car manufacturers instructions don't need to be engineered. Only additional seats intended for adults or aftermarket/not fitted in same way as factory, need to be engineered.

    Third Row Seating

Got myself a third row through a Holden surplus wholesaler with all installation instructions and template. Being installed as per Holden's instructions means being a seat only rated for children upto 12yo, it doesn't need engineering. Pretty straight forward install, just need to drop the petrol tank to put one bolt in.

Dual fuel is like any aftermarket mod really. Some are good, some are bad and some are really really bad. When I first met my partner she had an '05 Camry on dual fuel, it would cut out randomly on her, after a handful of times of it stalling through a roundabout in heavy school run traffic I bought myself a VZ wagon petrol only and made her swap with me. My safety is far less important than that of her and her children. My BA had cutting out issues, that was traced back to a dicky converter and solenoids in the gas tank - which eventually shat themselves and left the car stranded. Solenoids replaced and good as gold. Gas cars are a luck of the draw thing. If maintained regularly, serviced and system checked every 2 years, should be right as rain. Seems a lot of people have their car serviced and overlook maintenance on the gas system. Don't maintain something, it'll fuck up. Especially with the shit LPG we get that clogs up the converter. Although with buying a dual or dedicated car, I'd recommend having the system serviced and checked straight up, sellers might have a RWC done and service the engine, they mightn't bother with the gas system. Why spend money if they don't have to, right?

Yeah unfortunately the Dana diff's in the B series are crap. I had originally planned to thrown an AU BW diff in mine.

I've been told the dual fuel setups can be a touch more reliable than the dedicated setups, however I liked mine being dedicated with the larger tank getting me 550-600km and that includes my peak hour commute to and from work.

The gauge is an issue, can replace the sender on the tank with an updated version from VDO. The original ones were shit and were revised with the last of the BF and the now FG. The updated ones are available on eBay for around $80. Two parts of fuck all to change aswell. Ants right about reco'd converters, I can get them for around $400 fitted. But yeah, about half an hour, a few hand tools and about 1L of coolant if you're quick enough on the grab to top up any loss.

No idea mate. Mines stock as a rock, haven't bothered to look into any of that. I haven't worked in a trade for over a year now so the BA's about to be buggered off. No need for a family unfriendly daily anymore.
