Hi guys, I picked up a set of extractors and wondering what u think of them? Any good? There stainless steel and 3" outlet..
-
What collector would u recommend? Like a longer one?
-
Measured the opening where it bolts to the head, so ports, and they were 42mm..
-
These are the scratches, none are deep..
-
These are the ones on my car atm...
-
I don't have a good pic of them so I'll take one tomorrow..
-
Yea that makes sense...Yours looks killa, looks like a nice setup... Apparently they hang a bit low and scrape on a lowered car.. So would it affect anything if I cut them down low and take a bit out so the come up a bit higher?
-
Yea right, yea there pretty heavy and pretty long.. There stainless steel if I forgot to mention it...
-
I'll measure the inside and see how big they are... Where they bolt to the head...Remember I did measure out sides so will be a little smaller.. So what do u guys reckon? They for high rpm or torque..
-
The primaries are 50mm and the secondaries are 60mm Sorry it's in mm..aha If u want to know anything else let me know..
-
Aha, my car has ceramic coated ones on it atm...But brought these cause they look pretty cool..aha Yea gets to 6500 pretty easy but keen on getting it dynod... That's why I'm asking now instead of after..aha
-
Ok I'll measure them tomorrow and take some pics, thanks for the help so far..And if I don't use them they will be up for sale..
-
Just the size of the pipe? And I'll be reving it to around 6500 He's a local guy and its a nice clean looking ute...
-
This is them in the previous owners car I'll take a pic of the ones on my car atm and see if I should change..

ok, I've decided to go TFI, just wondering if people have had trouble with it fitting under the manifold.. Looks like it would be very tight..
-
Hi guys, this has probably been discussed before but I can't find much info on it.. I have a TFI dizzy that I need to fit along with the msd 6al-2 programmable box.. Has anyone done this before? Is so how u wired it up would be great... I'm going to be trying to do it in a few weeks so need to see what I have to do.. Cheers..

Nah different motor, the one in my lane is matching numbers..The one in the corty was the first one he did with a Crossy and then did the lane one a bit better again..
-
Hi guys, I'm fairly new to this and this has probably been discussed several times..aha Looking at getting an msd 6al2 for my Crossy. What do u guys think, good choice? Also what dizzy will go with that? Probably need a new coil as well yea? Any other things I should be aware of.. Engine mods: Is has a 250 crank that was balanced and polished and knife edged counterweights. A lot of time went into the bottom end. 200 rods were shot peeved and polished with bigger rod bolts. The rotating assembly was blueprinted and Balanced. The block was line bore honed, machined, crack tested, pressure tested, it has oversized pistons (I think 30 thou). Flat top custom pistons (11:1 comp) The block is also machined to zero deck. The head is ported and polished, has oversize valves, has double valve springs and Teflon stem seals. Also has hardened inserts and bronze valve guides Double row timing chain. All new gaskets and a copper head gasket. TE distributor has been graphed to suit the cam and has a bronze dizzy gear to suit the camshaft also. The fuel pump on the car is also modified and has a stronger spring and diaphragm to maintain enough fuel pressure. It's running a mustang 5 speed manual.. My plans for the next mods are msd ignition, TFI dizzy, 4brl manifold with 650dp, roller rockers, but before all that I need to swap my 2.77 diff for a 3:45 as it need it..aha The motor revs to 6500 pretty easy.. Also what size carb would u guys recommend? 465, 600, 650.. Sort of want to go double pumper..
-
I've decided to go the TFI dizzy and rip the module of the side and just have the 3 wire... How have u guys connected it, like a plug or something? Also how do I water proof it... Cheers
-
I brought it off that dude who ownes that cortina, and the engines are very similar.. I own the fairlane.. The engine looks identical with the same rocker cover, but I have changed that now...
-
If I'm running the est atm, what has to be done to change it over to TFI? I'm not running msd yet so just which wires go where... I might do that first if it's not too much trouble then msd..
-
It makes sence and thanks for explaining it...I think I have the est dizzy atm so do u guys reckon I should look for a TFI dizzy and remove the module and hook it up from there? Cheers
-
I've been talking to a local guy who races 250 crossflow and he said the TFI dizzy isn't worth the hassle as the module dies very quickly... So my question is, what's the difference between a TFI dizzy with the module removed so 3 wires and the dizzy with 2 wires coming out of it? There both electronic so is there any difference between the dizzy it's self? Cheers
