Hi All Im trying to bolt up a C4 behind an AU windsor to go i to an old pickup. I was told by a mechanic they should be 7/16 UNC high tensile bolts which I bought. Problem is the only grab a couple of threads and get really tight. I dont want to force them until I know for sure I have the correct size/thread. Can anyone enlighten me? Cheers

After recommendations for places in NSW that repair and polish stainless trim and also somewhere to get bumpers and bonnet garnish headlight surrounds off the XM repaired and replated. I saw a story in a magazine about a workshop around Sydney somewhere that does stainless but now cant find it. Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys. Hoping to have my XD sold this weekend so I have the last few $$ needed to go pick up the XM Futura Hardtop Ive put a deposit on. Will be a loooooong term project but Im cruising around building ideas for how I want her to turn out.

I sold a set in fair condition a few years ago with OK rubber for $450 from memory. They needed new clear on the outer rims and one had pretty decent gutter rash. Was told if they had been all the same manufacture year I might have got more.

Out of curiosity does anyone know if you can fit a C4 in an XM without having to make major changes to the firewall/trans tunnel? If not what other auto would work behind a mild Windsor? Cheers

LOL Thanks guys. I did realise the aunger would stop the sun getting to the glass was just curious if the venetian did anything much at all...kinda like the silver glorified bubble wrap sunshade you put across the inside of the windscreen does stop some of the heat just not as much as it would if you put it on the outside. Still cant decide which look i prefer tho

I currently have an aunger rear louvre on my D. While it looks good its a pain to remove when I clean the car (I live in coal mine country so thats a lot). Ive been thinking about getting an aftermarket venetian (some ebay mob called getashade in SA). Just curious about opinions for and against going with a venetian, are they harder to see through (I have ducks disease) do they cut less heat out of the car etc etc Cheers

Potentially stupid question. Ive heard somewhere that XF dizzies wont fit into XDs. I have a hand me down XF dizzy off a Weber fed xf engine and wanted to know for sure if I can or cant use it to upgrade the XD. Cheers

That's what I suspected and couldn't figure out how to get the trim off without damaging it. Probably obvious and I just cant see it LOL

Was wondering if there is a 'How to' thread on here about installing outer door belts as I havnt been able to find one. Can anyone help out with instructions on fitting them please. Ive found tips and pics on inner belts but not outers. Photos would really help too as I have no clue about this. Cheers

Yeah I can understand the second hand thing but Im a bit stunned that they can't get a new replacement. Thats just ridiculous, but then again we live in a throw away world. Yeah the pothole was pretty big it was after a lot of rain and he was slip-streaming a semi and didnt see it in time.. He drove it the rest of the way to the Gold Coast to visit his kids for a week then back down here. He continued to drive it around until the assessor came and no issues at all. Just bloody unfortunate. I will tell him about the later model steering wheel and he can do some digging. Cheers

Im after some info for a friend. He has a Tickford EL XR8 Option 20 Falcon which is a statutory write off due to Ford not stocking new airbags for EL's anymore according to the insurance company (he hit a really big pothole on the NE Highway and blew the air bags). Obviously he would love to register it again but cant until he can get new airbags as the insurance company and RMS wont let him use unused second hand ones from another car. The thing that sucks is other than the fact that it has unused secondhand airbags in it now there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and it bloody hammers! Anyone have any idea if these things can be sourced anywhere in Oz or overseas? Cheers
