    Power steering belt replacement

I think it would be more likely to be the alternator belt, rather than the steer belt. The steer belt is under very little load unless you are turning, whereas the alternator starts charging at a high level immediately on start to recover the charge lost while cranking, then reduces charge rate. That said, it would pay to check all belts. What is the car, what engine?

BTR V8 4 SPEED INTO XG OR XD-E

Did you guys ever get any further on this . A mate is doing one now . A BTR V8 trans and converter bolted right up to a Clevo flexplate . Yet to have it driving , but using the early stand alone ECU. Looks to be so far a good swap The guy previously had an AOD that would die every few weeks . It'd been rebuilt and modded several times I believe but obviously not done right

Crossy build- am I on the right track

Sorry for late response, not a windsor one. Made for e series speedway motors by a crowd here in NZ. Was dirty bw35 before so no comparison.

Sharpening up a btr 4 speed

My brother-in-law's BA XR6T had the auto gearbox drop its shit only months after buying it (second hand). The gearbox bloke who rebuilt it afterwards reckons AU and series 1 BA had big problems with 1st gear planetary. BTR went to a sharper helical cut on the gears to cut down the noise in 1st and 2nd but this increased the end thrust which shagged out the planetary hub and bearings. He reckoned some BA turbos wouldn't last 6 months before coming back with the same problem. Series 2 BA went back to the old noisier EL planetary and no more problems. So what I'm getting at is don't go leaning on it too much in the lower gears, particularly behind a V8.
