If I just wanted a nice hop-up without going silly, I'd leave the cam there. The factory specs are actually pretty decent for a silly stocker; lots of numbers bouncing around but 214/210 @ 0.050" is what I can find on the later (post 88) engines. That's what cam companies would class as between a stage 2 or 3 cam in the old days. If I wanted to chase a bit of power, I'd focus on the heads. A port job/bigger valves or GT40Ps will wake it up, and 1.7 rockers with good valve springs will help too. Replace the timing set as it's probably worn and might be retarded from factory (Thom?) I've read that the E303 motorsport cam is a popular, all-round, ECU-friendly unit. Slight lope at idle, 220@ 0.050", 110 lobe sep. Probably not far off what you have in your crossy Chestnut. Sent from my CPH1607 using Tapatalk
factory specs on the cam ,i came up with 1000rpm to 4700 rpm,and 117 lobe centres ,that e303 ford motorsport cam looks nice, summit does cam n lifter and new spider and new cam retaining plate for $473 us dollars.
That lifter looks like it has some nasty scoring at the top. It’s hard so see but that lower part above the roller could be overheated?? What do the lifter bores look like?
